Hand soldering of high density PCBAs requires highly skilled & qualified technicians in order to meet zero-defect soldering leading to overall assembly reliability.
Who’s the BEST of the BEST IN HAND SOLDERING ?
IPC would like to invite you to join the inaugural IPC Hand Soldering Competition (HSC) at SMT Connect on 7-9 May 2019 in Nuremberg, Germany. Located in Nuremberg Messe, skilled soldering expert will be competing for cash prizes and a coveted spot at the IPC Hand Soldering World Championship, held this year in Europe.
Competition for Professionals
The professional competitors will be judged by IPC-A-610 Master Instructors, on soldering a complex printed circuit board in accordance with IPC-A-610F Class 3 criteria. Additional criteria will include the speed at which the assembly was produced and overall electronical functionnality of the assembly.
Prizes for Professionals
Cash prizes will be awarded to the professionnal’ winner and two runners-up :
1. Place – € 300
2. Place – € 200
3. Place – € 100
In addition, the winner will be invited to attend the IPC HSC World Championship, to take place at Productronica in Munich, Germany, on 12-15 November 2019. Travel and accomodation costs will be covered by IPC.
Competition for to Students & Beginners
There will be two competitions at SMTConnect this year, one for the professionnals (skilled experts) and one for Beginners/students who like to demonstrate and evaluate their skills. Beginners/student’s competition will follow similar rules as the professionnals and will be soldering a printed circuit board assembly which meets their skill level.
Prizes for Students
Cash prizes will be awarded to Beginners/students’ winner and two runners-up :

2. Place – € 20
3. Place – € 10
