Navy staff takes IPC course with PIEK

NAVAL Pakistan training

Five employees of the Pakistan navy are taking an IPC course with PIEK. The navy regularly participates in NATO peace missions, safeguarding international traffic at sea. More information on their valuable work can be found on https://www.paknavy.gov.pk

For almost a week Mr Khurram Rehman, Mr Aslam Shahroon, Mr Ahmed Khalique, Mr Ahmed Megboob and Mr Shafiq Humayo stayed with PIEK for an IPC course and traded in their Pakistan workplace for the training rooms in PIEK’s Heerlen head office. While they were present, PIEK took the opportunity to talk to them.

PIEK: Why have you chosen for PIEK?
Mr Aslam Shahroon takes this question: ‘The impression we have of PIEK is very good. The trainers, the knowhow, the experience, everything is excellent. We are very happy to take home everything that we can learn here, and we will pass on our knowledge to our colleagues.’ Adds Mr Ahmed Khalique: ‘It is a great honour for us to be trained by such a professional MIT-certified instructor as Ron. There is so much that we can learn from him, he is so up-to-date and has so many real-life examples to share with us, it is amazing.’

PIEK: Was it easy to find a hotel?
Mr Ahmed Mehboob reacts: ‘Unfortunately, the hotel stated on the PIEK website was already fully booked, so it was not that easy, but we managed to book another one nearby.’

PIEK: On our website there is a brochure with information about this region. It not only states nice restaurants but also interesting places to visit. Should you have some spare time, Maastricht or Valkenburg aan de Geul could be fine places to visit.
Says Mr Mehboob: ‘We do not have so much time, but we will visit Maastricht and who knows Valkenburg.’ Mr Shafiq comments: ‘This time our plane leaves from Amsterdam, but for next time it may be interesting to fly from a different airport and save time, so perhaps PIEK can advise in this.’

PIEK: in a 100-kilometre radius there are eight airports, some of which take intercontinental flights. Apart from Amsterdam there is Dusseldorf, Brussels and Cologne. These could indeed be options next time.

PIEK: What are PIEK’s USPs?
Mr Khurram Rehman has a straightforward answer: ‘Pakistan is a country that is under development. We have not reached the level of the West by far. There are still many things that we have to learn and standards that we have to implement. As to electronics PIEK is our preferred partner, not only because we can take all IPC courses there but also and mainly because PIEK’s instructors are widely known for their international expertise and experience. No other training institution in the world can offer us more than PIEK does.’

PIEK: Have you already subscribed to our English-language newsletter? This contains news on changes that IPC makes to the various courses, it states the current course calendar, it holds interesting articles on current affairs in the electronics industry and it presents interviews with people in the field of work.
All five participants would be pleased to subscribe to the newsletter. PIEK thanks them for the brief talk, wishes them a safe journey home and hopes to see them again for another IPC course in the future.
