Avec 9,5 millions de victimes par an, le cancer occupe la troisi\u00e8me place de ce classement et malheureusement, la tendance augmente. La science fait tout son possible pour renverser cette tendance. C\u2019est ici que la nanotechnologie offre des solutions potentielles. Dans cet article, nous aborderons une s\u00e9rie de d\u00e9veloppements relatifs aux nanotechnologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>Certaines innovations en mati\u00e8re de nanotechnologie sont en mesure d\u2019arr\u00eater le d\u00e9veloppement des cellules canc\u00e9reuses et m\u00eame de les \u00e9liminer totalement. Bien que toutes ces innovations soient actuellement en phase pr\u00e9coce de d\u00e9veloppement, leur potentiel est \u00e9norme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Un nanom\u00e8tre repr\u00e9sente un milliardi\u00e8me de m\u00e8tre, ce qui devrait vous donner une id\u00e9e de l\u2019\u00e9chelle des technologies dont nous discutons. La nanotechnologie fait partie de plusieurs disciplines scientifiques, comme la chimie, la physique, la biologie, l\u2019ing\u00e9nierie, etc., et \u00e9tant donn\u00e9 que le secteur des soins de sant\u00e9 allie toutes ces disciplines, il est concr\u00e8tement possible de r\u00e9aliser ces innovations en mati\u00e8re de nanotechnologie. La nanotechnologie peut se d\u00e9finir comme la manipulation d\u2019atomes et de mol\u00e9cules individuels en vue de d\u00e9velopper des petits engins \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle nanom\u00e9trique. Ces derniers peuvent alors par exemple \u00eatre utilis\u00e9s pour s\u2019attaquer aux cellules canc\u00e9reuses ou pour les \u00e9liminer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019Institut Max Planck pour les syst\u00e8mes intelligents de Stuttgart est un groupe de recherche qui se concentre intensivement sur les nanotechnologies. L\u2019institut a d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 des nano-robots en forme d\u2019h\u00e9lice capables de p\u00e9n\u00e9trer les tissus tr\u00e8s denses. \u00c0 l\u2019avenir, ces robots pourront emporter des m\u00e9dicaments jusqu\u2019aux cellules touch\u00e9es afin de les traiter directement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Une collaboration sino-am\u00e9ricaine entre l\u2019Acad\u00e9mie chinoise des sciences et l\u2019Universit\u00e9 d\u2019\u00c9tat d\u2019Arizona a permis de cr\u00e9er des nano-robots capables d\u2019interrompre la circulation sanguine vers les tumeurs, ce qui permet de les r\u00e9tr\u00e9cir et de les \u00e9liminer. Les essais sur des souris ont \u00e9t\u00e9 tr\u00e8s prometteurs. Des recherches similaires ont aussi \u00e9t\u00e9 men\u00e9es avec succ\u00e8s au Royaume-Uni. Des chercheurs y ont d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 des nano-robots qui peuvent d\u00e9truire des cellules canc\u00e9reuses en moins de 60 secondes. Lorsqu\u2019ils sont expos\u00e9s \u00e0 la lumi\u00e8re ultraviolette, ces robots tournent \u00e0 une vitesse de deux \u00e0 trois millions de rotations par seconde, ce qui leur permet de rompre les membranes des cellules canc\u00e9reuses. Les scientifiques esp\u00e8rent pouvoir bient\u00f4t utiliser ces robots sur l\u2019homme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La nanotechnologie offre encore bien plus de possibilit\u00e9s. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 cette technologie, nous serons bient\u00f4t en mesure de r\u00e9parer et de r\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9rer des organes. Songez par exemple aux s\u00e9quelles d\u2019un accident vasculaire c\u00e9r\u00e9bral ou d\u2019autres maladies qui endommagent les organes. Des chercheurs du Wexner Medical Center de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 d\u2019\u00c9tat de l\u2019Ohio et du Coll\u00e8ge d\u2019ing\u00e9nierie d\u2019\u00c9tat de l\u2019Ohio se penchent d\u00e9j\u00e0 sur cette possibilit\u00e9. Ils ont d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 un dispositif capable de gu\u00e9rir les organes malades\/endommag\u00e9s en modifiant la fonction d\u2019une cellule dot\u00e9e d\u2019une seule liaison. En injectant un nouveau code g\u00e9n\u00e9tique dans les cellules de la peau avant de les int\u00e9grer \u00e0 une autre structure cellulaire, il est possible de r\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9rer des cellules cibles. Ce d\u00e9veloppement est tr\u00e8s prometteur pour les organes, les vaisseaux sanguins, les tissus, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En appliquant tous ces d\u00e9veloppements dans un contexte plus large, la nanotechnologie nous permettra peut-\u00eatre un jour d\u2019\u00e9liminer les maladies. Des nano-robots inject\u00e9s dans notre corps pourraient constamment rechercher les probl\u00e8mes \u00e9ventuels de notre structure cellulaire afin de les r\u00e9soudre imm\u00e9diatement.
